A well-known statistic around the gender pay gap is that men earn 25% more than women for equitable work. A lesser-known fact is eight times more men are negotiating than women. Only 7% of women negotiated their starting salary last year.


Come listen, learn, and implement negotiation skills from women who’ve successfully negotiated a salary increase for themselves—or for someone else—recount the actions they took, the hurdles they overcame, and the lessons they learned.

Panelists:

Paula Christensen is a Certified Professional Resume Writer and Certified Employment Interview Consultant with Strategic Career Coaches, a company she founded in 2015. Paula helps clients by leveraging the real-world experience and candidate differentiation tools she gained while working for over a decade as a corporate recruiter. Clients describe her interviewing advice as honest, tailored, and packed with practical tools that help them gain confidence and a competitive edge. She facilitates workshops and presents seminars on acing job interviews, modernizing resumes, and optimizing LinkedIn profiles. Paula holds five career management certifications and belongs to the NRWA, CDI, and PARW-CC. She takes great pride in earning two TORI awards and having resume samples and career advice published in three resume writing and job search books.


Detra Rogers is a Senior Vice President and Director of Channel Engagement for Associated Bank. Her previous executive experience roles includes key leadership roles at Fiserv, Kohls and AT&T. Detra is a passionate, experienced people leader with a reputation for transforming teams and developing top talent and shares her expertise with other women in hopes of getting more women and women of color in executive roles throughout Wisconsin and beyond.
