It is easy to say "Yes" to too many projects when you are trying to be helpful and provide value to an organization.  This can lead to staff feeling overworked and burning out.  It can also mean you never have time to work on your team’s backlog and other maintenance tasks.  Resource Management can help you say No and align projects to resource availability.  In this presentation, we will discuss a successful implementation of Resource Management in IT, what it takes on a day-to-day basis to support the initiative, benefits of using the process, challenges that still remain, and how other areas in the organization are approaching resource management with different mindset and technology.

Angela Olson is a Product Tech Lead II for Sub-Zero Group, Inc. and has been with Sub-Zero for over 7 years.  Her primary focus area is to support IT Project Management.  In 2022 she led the IT department through the implementation of Resource Management using ServiceNow.  She is also involved in a People with Passion initiative to help with Resource Management throughout the entire organization.  Over her 20-year IT career, Angela has worked in a variety of roles for insurance agencies, a home health organization, and for an environmental agency.
