Retired FBI Supervisory Special Agent and Author of the Secret to Cyber Security Scott E. Augenbaum is going to tackle the issue of why organizations continue to increase their spending on information security while at the same time the Cybercrime problem continues to increase.
During Scott’s decades in the FBI, he has responded the 1000's of Cybercrime incidents and they all had the same four commonalities:1) None of the victims ever expected to be a victim because they didn't think they fit the “threat profile.”2) When the Cybercriminal stole money, data or intellectual property it was almost impossible for the victim to recover their assets. 3) Since a majority of the Cybercriminals are located overseas, it is difficult to bring them to justice.4) A majority of all Cybercrime incidents could have been PREVENTED without spending money. Scott will discuss the following points during his interactive discussion:
